The UChicago Folk Festival is powered by volunteers, who do everything from working backstage and in our greenroom to organizing workshops, selling CDs, and working with our performers.  There's a job for everyone's interest and ability, and volunteers earn free tickets to our evening concerts – a $25 value for each shift worked – not bad for a job this fun!  If you are interested in volunteering, read the job descriptions here and sign up for a Friday or Saturday shift.

A Bit of History

Also from Richard Chase to former Folklore Society president Mike Fleischer, this handwritten postcard is dated December 22, 1960. It says that Horton Barker "is willing to come" to the festival but needs to know the dates of the fest.
